'Game Of Thrones' Season 5, Episode 3 – High Sparrow King Tommen Baratheon. "Game of Thrones" Season 5, Episode 3 featured one of the show's most uncomfortable love scenes yet. In last Sunday's episode, titled "High Sparrow," King Tommen Baratheon (Dean-Charles Chapman) finally tied the knot with Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer). And the night after the ceremony, the newlyweds consummated their marriage without delay.
Tommen is described as a 7-year-old in the beginning of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" novel series, but Chapman recently told Vulture that he approximates his character to be about 12 years old on the show.
MTV interviewed 17-year-old Dean-Charles Chapman, who plays Tommen Baratheon, about the scene in which he and Margaery are lying in the bed together post-coitus, and the young actor was much less gung ho about the scene in real life.
“It was very disturbing,” said Chapman. “Normally when my stuff’s on the telly, I don’t watch my own bits. But this was such a big scene for my character, so I checked it out… I was nervous to just be pretend marrying Natalie Dormer.”
Chapman gave credits to Dormer for making the scene easier for him. Chapman explained it was “really weird” to watch the scene as a viewer. “Even if I watch it, it’s pretty messed up, because Tommen is such a young kid,” he said.
Chapman, however, was quick to point out that the recent love scene was a lot quicker to film than the bedroom scene between Tommen and Margaery with Ser Pounce (Tommen's pet cat) last season. That scene was so complicated to shoot that Dormer considered it as the most difficult "Game of Thrones" scene she has ever filmed. "Actually, Ser Pounce was a bit of a diva that day," Dormer added.
"Game of Thrones" Season 5, Episode 4, titled "Sons of Harpy," airs on Sunday, May 3, at 9 p.m. on HBO. "The Faith Militant grow increasingly aggressive. Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Bronn (Jerome Flynn) head south. Ellaria (Indira Varma) and the Sand Snakes vow vengeance."
For example, this week, 12-year-old King Tommen Baratheon (who is a mere seven in the books) lost his virginity to his much older queen, Margaery Tyrell, played by 33-year-old Natalie Dormer.
Chapman Explaining in his adorable British teen vernacular that he wasn’t naked during the shoot. Chapman also discussed his scenes with fan favorite Ser Pounce — Tommen’s ginger cat — explaining that the feline was a bit of a difficult scene partner.
